Can I ask or offer to deliver on Olio?

Olio is designed to connect local communities through in-person sharing. Here’s our policy on delivery and postage.

Updated over a month ago

🚫 Free sharing (food & non-food)

  • Do not request or offer delivery/postage. Doing so may result in suspension of your account.

  • Why:

    • Postage costs go against the spirit of free local sharing.

    • Givers don’t want to feel like a delivery service, and it discourages them from listing items.

    • Scammers could ask for postage money and never send the item.

✅ If you can’t collect in person

If you’re unable to pick up items yourself, you still have options:

  • Ask a friend, neighbour, or family member to collect on your behalf. Be sure to tell the Olioer who will be picking up.

👉 In short: Olio is about local, face-to-face sharing. Please don’t ask or offer delivery for free items, but you can still get help to collect.
