Trouble viewing a collection
Why can't I see a collection slot that I know is available on the Volunteer Hub?
If you know that a collection is available (i.e. you know that it has been skipped/paused/unassigned from), but are unable to view it on the Volunteer Hub, there could be a few explanations.
- The slot has already been claimed by another Food Waste Hero. We are incredibly privileged to have an incredibly active community, so slots are claimed very quickly. We cannot 'reserve' slots, and they are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, so please ensure you have your notification settings set up on the Volunteer Hub so that you are first to be notified when a new slot becomes available.
- Your location is set too far away from the store. For food safety and environmental reasons, Food Waste Hero collection slots are only shown as available to users living within a set distance of each store to ensure that you do not need to travel far to collect.
- You have never previously claimed a collection, and the slot you are trying to view is in under 72 hours. To ensure that Food Waste Heroes have enough time to complete the relevant training before their collection, new Food Waste Heroes can only claim a collection if it is over 72 hours in the future.
