Collection slots not showing

Why can't I see a collection slot that I know is available on the Volunteer Hub?

If you know that a collection is available (i.e. you know that it has been skipped/paused/unassigned from), but are unable to view it on the Volunteer Hub, there could be a few explanations.

  1. The slot has already been claimed by another Food Waste Hero. We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing active community, so slots are claimed very quickly! We cannot 'reserve' slots, and they are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, so please ensure you have your notification settings set up on the Volunteer Hub so that you are first to be notified when a new slot becomes available.
  2. Your location is set too far away from the store. For food safety and environmental reasons, Food Waste Hero collection slots are only shown as available to users living within a set distance of each store to ensure that you do not need to travel far to collect.
  3. You haven't done a collection before. To ensure that everyone has time to be trained fully, some one-off slots are only available to experienced users who have done a collection before.
