🍽️ Olive Dining School Collections – Common Issues & What to do

If issues arise at an Olive Dining school (e.g. no answer, confusion, wrong containers), inform your squad and submit an Issue Report Form.

📞 What If the Kitchen Doesn’t Pick Up the Phone?

Call the school’s main number (via Google) and explain to reception that you can’t reach the kitchen.

Ask them to either connect you or confirm if food is available.
Then:

  • Let your squad know in chat

  • Fill out the Issue Report Form via the Volunteer Hub

🚫 What If the Kitchen Always Says There’s No Food?

Politely ask if there are other days when surplus food might be available.
If they suggest an alternative day:

  • Share it with your squad

  • Submit the Issue Report Form to keep Olio informed

🤷‍♀️ What If Reception Doesn’t Know About Olio?

Let them know Olio has a partnership with Olive Dining to collect surplus food weekly.
Ask to be directed to the kitchen.
If there are issues:

  • Request they contact the kitchen manager

  • Update your squad

  • Fill out the Issue Report Form

❓ What If the Kitchen Doesn’t Know About the Collection?

This shouldn’t happen, but if it does:

  • Explain Olio collects food via a contract with Olive Dining

  • Ask for the name of the person you spoke to and the Kitchen Manager

  • Politely say you’re happy to take any surplus food

  • Notify your squad

  • Submit an Issue Report Form

🍱 What If They Give Me Food in Large Containers?

All schools should provide food in individual containers supplied by Olive Dining.

If they don’t:

  • Ask the kitchen to separate dishes properly

  • If they’ve run out of containers, ask them to contact Olive Dining for more

  • Let your squad know

  • Report the issue using the Issue Report Form

📝 How Do I Report Any Collection Issue?

Always:

  • Update your squad in the group chat

  • Fill out the Issue Report Form via the Volunteer Hub
