Sharing a slot - Can I send someone else on my behalf?

  • I would like to give one of my collection slots to a friend, how do I do it?
    • To ensure collections are allocated fairly to Food Waste Heroes and that everyone has completed all the necessary online training, all collections must be formally claimed via the Volunteer Hub
    • If you want to make your collection slot available to another Food Waste Hero, you must unassign from the collection so that it is displayed on the Volunteer Hub for another user to claim.

  • Can I share my ongoing collection slot with another Food Waste Hero?
    • No, collection slots must be assigned to a single Food Waste Hero.
    • If you cannot collect on the odd occasion, you can arrange for cover by skipping or pausing your collection via the Volunteer Hub.

  • Can someone else collect the food from the business on my behalf?
    • Only other registered Food Waste Heros can collect on your behalf.
    • Someone else can collect the food on your behalf if you've paused or skipped your slot on the Volunteer Hub and they've claimed it.
    • However, they must have completed all required Food Waste Hero training modules and claimed your skipped/paused collection slot via the Volunteer Hub.

  • Can I send my partner, friend, or flatmate to collect the food from the business?
    • No, you cannot send your partner, friend, or flatmate to collect the food from the business unless they've completed all required Food Waste Hero training modules and have claimed your skipped/paused collection slot via the Volunteer Hub.

  • I can't commit to collect every week. Can I share the slot with someone else?
    • No, collections cannot be shared between Food Waste Heroes. If you are unable to make a collection, you must arrange for cover by pausing or skipping your collection on the Volunteer Hub. It will then become available for another Food Waste Hero to claim.

πŸ™πŸΌPlease ensure fair allocation of collection slots and adhere to the guidelines provided to maintain a smooth and effective food waste collection process.
